Katsuyama et al have reported on the development of  a high energy pulsed X-ray CT installation for the NDE of fuel pins in an irradiated (up to 53.5 GWd/t) fast breeder reactor fuel assembly. The 12 MeV X-ray set was synchronised to the live-time of 100 silicon-based detectors with tungsten collimators containing 100 micron wide slits and the fuel assembly made to traverse and rotate in the X-ray beam in order to obtain the data for 3D reconstruction with a pixel size of 100 microns.

Sun et al. have demonstrated 3D coherent X-ray scatter imaging in grazing incidence reflective geometry for thin films and nano-structures using the Advanced Photon Source at the Argonne National Laboratory, USA.
